After the great success of the exhibition "Icons of modern art. The Chtchoukine collection" The Fondation Louis Vuitton presents from September 22, 2021 to 22 February 22, 2022 "Icons of modern art. The Morozov collection".

The brothers Mikhail and Ivan Morozov, Muscovite businessmen, have built up an extraordinary collection of works of modern art by artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Cézanne, Bonnard, Denis, Degas, as well as Russian artists (Vroubel, Chagall, Malevich, Repin, Larionov, Serov ...) Nationalized during the revolution of 1917, the collection was distributed, after World War II, between the Hermitage museum (in Saint Petersburg) , the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the Tretyakov Gallery (in Moscow). It is thanks to the remarkable collaboration of these Russian museums that the Fondation Louis Vuitton will present these works. This is an exceptional artistic event since this art collection has never been presented outside Russia.

The cover of the catalogue features the painting "La mer aux saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer" (1888) by Vincent Van Gogh.

The cover of the English version of the catalogue depicts The Sea at Les saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (1888) by Vincent Van Gogh.

The cover of the Russian version of the catalogue features Valentin Serov's painting "Portrait of the Collector of Modern Russian and French Painting Ivan Abramovich Morozov" (1910)
