Dutch-born illustrator Gerda Muller was born on 21 February 1926 in Naarden, the Netherlands.
She studied at the School of Decorative Arts in Amsterdam, then at the Estienne School in Paris before working in French children's publishing, notably for Centurion-Bayard, the Père Castor collection for which she illustrated Les Bons amis and Les Trois petits cochons by Paul François, which are constantly being reissued, and for L'École des Loisirs.
