Charlotte Perriand and Photography : A wide-angle eye

9788874395491
Along with her activities as an architect, a designer, an urbanist and an activist, Charlotte Perriand took an interest in photography. Her photographic period began in 1927, when modernity was growing rapidly, and ended in Japan, in 1940, with the World War II.

To Charlotte Perriand, photography was the "secret laboratory" of her artistic and philosophical resarches. She was the first one to use it as an integral part of furniture, and as an ornamental element.

Her photographic work expresses the principal topics and interrogations from the 1930s, and falls within the wide avant-garde movement led by painters, architects and photographs working together.
