Daniel Buren "Observatory of light, Work in situ"

Description

"Il faut sérieusement douter" brings together a collection of essential texts written by Daniel Buren between 1967 and 2018. Theoretical positions, open letters and comments on art invite us to explore the artist's work and also offer his point of view on some of the events that have marked the art of this period.

The interviews, rewritten by Daniel Buren, give him free rein to speak and the unpublished photographs that accompany the texts show those who often accompanied him.

Explaining, denouncing, answering, arguing, commenting, describing are, for Daniel Buren, acts closely linked to his plastic work and which allow us to better understand how this radical and committed work is deeply rooted in its time, in its problems and remains in permanent dialogue with those who build it.
