Icons of Modern Art, The Morozov Collection

Description

For a little more than twenty years, the Morozov brothers, Muscovites and textile billionaires, had accumulated a breathtaking collection of works of art during their numerous trips to Europe, masterpieces by Monet, Renoir, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Matisse, Picasso, Gauguin, Bonnard, as well as by Russian artists: Serov, Vroubel, etc...
This great collection was nationalised when the winds of the Bolshevik revolution swept through Russian society and established a new order.
