Alexander Calder : Minimal / Maximal

9783791379296

At the threshold between breath and metal, Alexander Calder conjures a gravity that wavers. There, the infinitesimal murmurs to the colossal, like a secret entrusted to the wind. And space, all at once, becomes a poem held in suspension.

Calder. Dreaming in Equilibrium

Description

Alexander Calder: Minimal / Maximal unfolds as a subtle meditation on the measure of the world, wherein each work oscillates between tactile intimacy and urban vastness. In dialogue with the lucid architecture of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe at the Neue Nationalgalerie, Calder's organic forms unsettle geometric rigor and open a field of poetic resonance. Mobiles, stabiles, and aerial figures become shifting scores, activated by the gaze and the passage of bodies. Scale is never fixed: it breathes, contracts, and surges forth. Thus, the exhibition composes a choreography of the visible in which the viewer, invited to move within it, becomes a living measure of the work itself.
